Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Desert of central Kalahari in Botswana. This is the largest and by far the most remote reserve in southern Africa. It covers and area of 52000 sqaure km and makes the central Kalahari the second largest reserve in the world. In Botswana the local operators refer to central Kalahari as “CKGR”.

The vastness of the Kalahari desert of Central Kalahari is overwhelming on your first visit and every visitor should be well prepared on their visit to Central Kalahari. Knowledge of the park is important and well maintained and equipped vehicles are recommended on your visit to Central Kalahari.

Nxai Pan

Nxai Pan itself is an extensive grass plain, part, once again, of the old lake bed, which is more generously covered with acacia trees. In the south of Nxai Pan, Baines’ Baobabs comprise a clump of large baobab trees, rendered immortal in 1862 by painter Thomas Baines, a member of Livingstone’s expedition.

The Park was originally state land. This area of 1676 square kilometres was declared a game reserve in 1970 and then in 1992 the boundaries were extended to include Baines Baobabs to give the current total area of 2578 square kilometres and National Park status was granted. Visiting the Pans, these larger pans are now grassed, and are scattered with islands of acacia trees, and smaller pans that fill with water during the rainy season – thus providing rich resources for wildlife. You will enjoy seeing the beauty of the zebras and other games, visiting the Baobaos.

Moremi Game Reserve

The Moremi Game Reserve covers much of the eastern side of the Okavango Delta and combines permanent water with drier areas, which create some startling and unexpected contrasts. Some prominent geographical features of the Reserve are Chiefs Island and the Moremi Tongue.Moremi Reserve is the best place to experience excellent views of savannah game as well as bird-watching on the lagoons. There are also thickly wooded areas, which are home to the rare African wild dog and leopard. These is where you do our Game Drives in 4 x 4 game view vehicles and Boat Cruises.

Tsodilo Hills

Tsodilo Hills is a rare and unique place with an atmosphere of intrigue and enigmatic. The word Tsodilo is resulting from the Hambukushu word ‘sorile’ which means sheer. It is believed to be the site of first Creation by the Bushmen who painted more than 3500 rock paintings against the superb stone faces of the hills.
The site consists of a few main hills, the Local Guides will take you on trial/walk. You will be visiting the Hills or Hill Climbing. There is a Museum where you will learn about the first people of these Place.
From Maun to Tsodilo is about 4-5 hours’ drive.

Savute – Chobe National Park

The Savute area borders the Delta to the west and Chobe National Park to the east and is one of Africa’s best known big game areas. Savuti is a place of enchantment, of beauty, and boasts one of the greatest concentrations of animals in Southern Africa. Savuti Channel: Savuti is famous for its mysterious and fascinating channel.
Savute area, in the relatively dry Centre of Chobe National Park, is renowned for being the home of spectacular herds of easily approachable elephants.
Our game drives are done along Savute mash watching many jackals, spotted Hyenas are a major feature of this area and are more easily seen here than in other Southern African, viewing a vast African scale with open grassy plains, seasonal pans, acacia and broadleaved woodland

The Okavango Delta

Okavango Delta is the world’s largest inland delta formed where the Okavango River reaches a tectonic trough in the central part of the endorheic basin of the Kalahari. All the water reaching the Delta is ultimately evaporated and transpired, and does not flow into any sea or ocean. The area attracts many different aquatic and woodland bird species and is graced by scenic riverine and woodland vegetation along the myriad of channels, these is where traditional Canoe/Dugout and Walking Safaris.
